Our story
Iceland is a country of sharp contrasts. A place where fire and ice co-exist. Where dark winters are offset by the summer’s midnight sun. A country where insular existence has spurred a rich and vibrant culture. Iceland’s nature is our legacy, and we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact. There is always room for improvement – and the more we strive to improve, the more we contribute.
Our ethos is the same today as when my ancestors explored the healing properties of herbs: what you put on your skin is food for your skin. In Iceland, we are fortunate to have an abundance of clean air and Icelandic spring water – excellent conditions for cultivating pure herbs and products.

Every summer, when they are at their best, we harvest them from a certified organic patch of wilderness in Southern Iceland.
Authentic heritage
Born in 1846, Grasa-Þórunn, Sóley's great-great-grandmother, was a legendary herbalist and midwife. Her wisdom got passed through generations, usually from mother to daughter.
Grasa-Þórunn's heirloom remedies are the foundation of Sóley Organics skincare products.
Meet Sóley
Sóley Organics founder is Icelandic actress Sóley Elíasdóttir, a long-standing iconic figure of the country’s theatre and film world.
She left the stage to embrace the family tradition of harnessing the healing properties of herbs; a tradition that goes back many generations.
BEHIND THE BRAND
Our products are made in an adorable little village of 300 people that stands between the shores of a northern fjord and the foot of Kaldbakur Mountain. We get water for our products from a spring on Kaldbakur that is so pure you can drink straight from it.
Today our products are being sold in health stores, pharmacies, travel and lifestyle stores all over Iceland and we have distribution in 11 countries, from Sweden to Taiwan. We ship internationally, anywhere in the world, from our online store.
